Change is an undeniable and pressing challenge of our era, with far-reaching consequences that extend to horticulture, a critical component of global food production and economic sustainability. Global temperatures are rising, leading to shifting climate patterns and an increased frequency of extreme weather events. These shifts pose significant challenges to horticulture, where specific environmental conditions are susceptible to disruption by climate change. Rising temperatures, for instance, affect plant development, flowering, and fruiting, ultimately impacting crop yields. The effects of climate change are not uniform across regions. Vulnerabilities and adaptive capacities vary depending on geographic location and socio-economic context. Regions with fragile ecosystems and limited resources are at heightened risk, while regions with established infrastructure and adaptive capabilities have better means to mitigate and adapt. climate change is reshaping horticulture, presenting challenges, and opportunities. By adopting adaptive strategies and continuing research endeavors, horticulture can endure and thrive, contributing to global food security and sustainable agriculture. This review paper presents a comprehensive exploration of the impact of climate change on horticulture, offering a global perspective while emphasizing adaptation strategies to address these challenges.
